"AND THIS IS HOW THE STORY GOES"... Danny, Doug and Scott were in a metal/hardcore band called Dead Squad. They released a limited edition EP titled "Aegris Somnia", which quickly sold out, and they performed at various bars and clubs in the Southeast Texas area.

It was at one of these shows that they met Anthony, Jeremy and Steve. Their band, Distorted Rage, was sharing the bill that night. Each liked what they heard and the two bands immediately formed a lasting friendship.

A couple of years after forming, Dead Squad broke up. Distorted Rage needed a bass player, so Danny was asked to join. They released a six-song CD titled "Harsh Realities" and soon they were performing at venues from Houston to Corpus Christi to Dallas to New Orleans. When Steve decided to leave the band, Doug was brought in as replacement.

With their new line-up, the band competed in & won the 1st KLOL/Stevens & Pruitt Battle of the Bands and appeared on the Stevens & Pruitt Morning Radio Show. The band performed at the Westheimer Arts Festival and drew one of the largest crowds of the event. Then they were asked to contribute a song to "Legend of a Madman", an Ozzy Osbourne tribute CD released through Mercury Records subsidiary. Their submission, "I Don't Know", is hands-down the best track on the album. However, in spite of the attention and tremendous potential, Distorted Rage also eventually disbanded.

Time passes... One day Danny calls Scott and says he wants to start a new band that would play any and all kinds of music. Thinking that the personal chemistry developed in the previous bands might be a good place to start, they contacted Anthony, Doug & Jeremy about the idea, to which all agreed.

And so, the Daddylongnecks (why do the bands' names always start with a "D"?) began rehearsals in the fall of 2003, with Anthony Corona on drums & vocals, Danny Acker on bass & vocals, both Doug Proctor and Jeremy Rodriguez on guitars & vocals, and Scott Parker on keyboards & vocals. Starting with some old favorites and a few original tunes, the band quickly began to develop its own style & sound which they describe as "classiccountryrocknrollmetal".

Since making their live performance debut in March of 2004, the band has had the honor of being an opening act for legendary 60's boogie-band, Canned Heat, and also southern rockers, Blackfoot. They have also had the pleasure of performing annually for the good people of the Circle D-A & Primetime Cooking Teams and all of their proud sponsors at the World's Championship BBQ Contests at Reliant Park, as well as the 2008 & 2009 Lone Star Rallies in Galveston plus many other events.

"AND THEN THERE WERE THREE"... It was dark times for the band when Jeremy & Doug both decided to take an indefinite break for personal reasons. Losing both guitarists at almost the same time would have been the end of most bands, especially considering the history that the band had together. But for Anthony, Danny & Scott, the 'longnecks would have to live on. So began the search for the new guitarist(s). Almost immediately, the band was fortunate enough to cross paths with a couple of excellent guitar players, each with their own unique style of playing. The first was "Chicago Joe" Penley, an extremely versatile guitarist who has been in and performs with various country bands & national acts.  The other addition to the 'longnecks' family is John Donaghy, a very talented guitarist with a classic rock/blues background. It was because of these differences that it was decided rather than try to combine the new guitarists' styles, the band would try using different guitarists for different venues, allowing each to better showcase their talents. There's no telling who'll be slinging an axe at a Daddylongnecks show, but one thing that is certain: YOU WILL BE ENTERTAINED !!!
